This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Establish priorities, devise strategy, and implement the Medical Affairs plan for the therapeutic area in collaboration with the Associate Director, Medical Affairs, ANZ.
• Gain insight into the local clinical landscape, stakeholder requirements, and treatment pathways.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, nurses, and stakeholders across ANZ.
• Execute territory and stakeholder planning, identifying priority stakeholders, engagement opportunities, and unmet medical needs.
• Organize, document, and monitor scientific engagement activities.
• Facilitate non-promotional scientific discussions with healthcare professionals regarding Allergan Aesthetics products, supporting data, and their proper use.
• Provide scientific education and training to healthcare professionals.
• Present medical insights and scientific updates that support evidence-based clinical decision-making.
• Assist in educational initiatives, speaker programs, scientific meetings, congresses, and professional forums.
• Uphold scientific credibility and maintain expertise in the therapeutic area.
• Create and implement KOL engagement plans while nurturing relationships with emerging leaders.
• Represent AbbVie’s scientific viewpoint at customer meetings and professional forums.
• Monitor scientific, clinical, and market trends in ANZ, Asia-Pacific, and globally.
• Collect and convey external insights, competitor intelligence, and scientific observations.
• Provide accurate and balanced medical advice for promotional and educational materials.
• Report adverse events within 24 hours in accordance with policy.
• Participate in WHS programs, adhere to compliance processes, and promote a safe working environment.
• Undertake ad hoc administrative tasks.
• A science degree is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience post-qualification.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical-related industry is essential.
• Prior customer-facing experience is necessary.
• Excellent scientific communication and presentation abilities are required.
• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to critically assess and convey clinical data.
• Ability to learn and articulate clinical and non-clinical technical information to diverse audiences with varying scientific knowledge.
• Capability to work collaboratively across functions in a matrix environment.
• High professional integrity and a solid understanding of compliance requirements.
• Ability to work autonomously with sound judgment and accountability.
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Excellent listening skills with the ability to capture and synthesize insights.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of work time throughout ANZ.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly PowerPoint.
• B Pharm, Nursing, Pharm D, MSc, or PhD is preferred.
• Prior experience in pharmaceutical commercial/sales is highly desirable.
• At least 2 years of experience in a medical affairs team is preferred.
• Experience in clinical research, including phase IV studies, is advantageous.
