This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +38 more states.

β’ BookNook tutors collaborate with school districts throughout the United States, engaging with students in consistent, recurring weekly sessions. Tutors benefit from a supportive community, the BookNook virtual classroom, and fully supplied lesson content.
β’ Subjects: Math and Reading, with provided lesson content and additional practice materials.
β’ Students: Grades K to 8 across the USA.
β’ Type: Independent contractor eligible for 1099.
β’ Schedule: Aligns with the academic year, from September to May, typically comprising sessions of 30 to 45 minutes.
β’ Total Flexibility: Enjoy complete control over your schedule without any weekly hour commitments.
β’ Schedule Consistency: To ensure stable support for students, tutors are expected to attend at least 80% of their claimed sessions.
β’ Experience: Background as a classroom teacher, EL/ESL/ELL, tutoring, coaching, or similar student support roles; online instructional experience with a college degree is preferred.
β’ Tutoring Focus: Provide pre-designed, best-practice math lessons aimed at offering targeted support to students who are often looking to enhance their skills and understanding at or below grade level.
β’ Rapport: Ability to forge meaningful professional relationships with students, fostering an encouraging and motivating learning atmosphere with supportive corrections.
β’ Technology: Must have a computer (laptop or desktop), a webcam, a clean and distraction-free environment, and a reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum speed of 20 mbps.
β’ Location: Must reside in and tutor from one of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, or Washington DC.
β’ Location: All tutoring sessions must be conducted from within the 50 United States or Washington, DC.
β’ Earnings: Receive payment for your completed and attended sessions, independent of student attendance, with additional seasonal incentive payments available for specific sessions.
