This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Abstract and/or audit clinical records, data, and other information that range from moderate to highly complex.

• Utilize clinical training, knowledge, and experience to review patient records and extract data elements for clinical registries.

• Ensure adherence to standards of care, policies and procedures, regulations, and accreditation requirements.

• Identify and report discrepancies, significant data trends, outlier values, and unusual data for further review.

• Input data elements and audit findings into registry software and other data collection tools while meeting deadlines.

• Maintain productivity standards and demonstrate competency in measure and registry specifications, definitions, and protocols.

• Summarize findings, draw conclusions, maintain variance reports, and communicate results to clinical data abstractor leadership.

• Foster working relationships with stakeholders, teams, and committees; participate in meetings to share findings, provide education, and address inquiries.

• Reach out to patients, families, and provider outpatient clinics through phone or written communication to identify clinical outcomes and complete registry follow-up documentation.

• Facilitate and engage in quality assurance audits to ensure inter-rater reliability and satisfactory external audit validation results.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's degree in Nursing is required.

• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.

• Preferably, 1 year of auditing or abstraction experience.

• Ideally, 2 years of experience in abstracting CMS Core Measures or Clinical Outcomes Registries.

• Acute care experience in surgery, cardiac, emergency, or critical care is preferred.

• A valid Arizona or compact-state Registered Nurse license is required.

• Candidates assigned to ACS NSQIP or MBSAQIP must complete surgical case reviewer training/certification within 90 days of hire; this training is provided and compensated by the organization.

• Must be a resident of the state of Arizona.

• Availability is required Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
