Virtual Elementary Math Tutor, K-8

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +38 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer virtual math tutoring to students in grades K–8 throughout the United States

• Implement pre-designed, evidence-based math lessons along with practice extension materials

• Provide focused assistance for students enhancing skills and topics at or below their grade level

• Conduct primarily 30-minute sessions aligned with the school year from September to May

• Manage student behavior and engagement within a virtual classroom setting

• Allocate practice time and guide students with constructive feedback

• Foster significant professional relationships and create a supportive, motivating learning environment

• Attend at least 80% of scheduled sessions to ensure consistent student support

• Claim individual sessions or recurring series based on availability

• Engage in the application, demonstration, meeting, and onboarding processes

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a classroom teacher, EL/ESL/ELL specialist, tutor, coach, or in a similar supportive role

• Experience in online instruction

• College degree is preferred, but not mandatory

• Capability to deliver pre-designed, best-practice math lessons

• Proficiency in assisting students to enhance skills at or below grade level

• Ability to establish meaningful professional connections with students

• Skill in creating an encouraging and motivational learning atmosphere

• Competence in providing supportive corrections to students

• Access to a computer (laptop or desktop) and a webcam

• A clean, distraction-free environment

• Reliable high-speed internet with a minimum connection speed of 20 Mbps

• Must reside in and tutor from one of the eligible U.S. states or Washington, DC

• All sessions must be conducted from within the 50 United States or Washington, DC

• Availability typically including at least one hour from Monday to Thursday between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM ET

• Commitment to attend at least 80% of claimed sessions

• Applicants may be asked to submit a 5-minute one-way recorded tutoring demonstration

• Applicants might be invited to schedule a 15-minute virtual meeting

• Must provide a clear result from an in-person fingerprint-based FBI background check after accepting an offer
