• Involving families and the community in impactful and mutually beneficial ways that encourage student academic success and well-being.

• Applying behavior management techniques that inspire students through robust relationships with their teachers and positive reinforcements.

• Serving as the primary contact for the local community, effectively articulating the school's mission and vision while gathering feedback from parents and families regarding school performance, areas needing improvement, and their specific needs.

• Understanding, accepting, adhering to, and executing the school's philosophy and mission in all school-related activities.

• Contributing to a positive school climate and culture by demonstrating high professional standards.

• Engaging and establishing strong professional relationships with parents, characterized by timely and consistent communication.

• Developing and managing a comprehensive Career and Technical Education program.

• Collaborating with administrators, student services personnel, and teachers to ensure effective delivery of career development services.

• Facilitating connections with parents, businesses, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to aid students' transitions to postsecondary education and employment.

• Building partnerships with external organizations that enhance the school's culture.

• Working with leadership to create, implement, and oversee instructional programs while assessing curriculum, pedagogy, lesson plans, and frequently observing classes to promote diverse instructional strategies and materials aligned with best practices for student learning and development.

• Sharing responsibility for student achievement concerning academics and social-emotional wellness.

• Collaborating with the Principal to plan and provide professional development opportunities for teachers that reinforce instructional best practices.

• Partnering with cross-departmental leadership teams and staff to organize staff in-service days, parent-teacher conferences, and extended learning opportunities.

• Collaborating with other instructional leaders (Principal, Head of School, MTSS Coordinator, Special Education Coordinators, etc.) to ensure fidelity in the MTSS/RTI process.

• Working alongside the principal to coordinate and oversee summer educational initiatives.

• Teaming up with Human Resources to implement a highly effective talent management system for recruiting, selecting, hiring, retaining, recognizing, and supporting all school site staff.

• Ensuring non-discrimination practices during the faculty and staff selection process by complying with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations.

• Partnering with the Home Office/Operations Team on reviewing and reporting requirements set by the State, charter authorizing agency, Federal regulatory agencies, and the school sponsor, including the charter renewal process.

• Understanding and addressing all compliance matters relating to the school's Sponsor Agreement.

• Supporting the state-mandated testing process, including in-person assessments.

• Assisting in the revision of parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks.

• Keeping updated on the state’s policies, procedures, and legislation.

• Demonstrating high-quality communication with all students and their families.

• Addressing student issues escalated by parents and teachers.

• A travel commitment of 15% is required.

• Additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Active and valid Principal and Teacher license in the state of Washington.

• Preference for Washington residency.

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.

• Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks.

• Familiarity with state academic content standards.

• A minimum of seven years of experience in education or a related discipline.

• At least two years of experience in effective school administration/instructional leadership.

• An advanced degree in education/educational leadership is highly preferred.

• Proven ability to develop and sustain a rigorous academic program that caters to the needs of all students.

• Experience with public education accountability, compliance, and associated legal requirements.

• Demonstrated capacity to create inclusive environments that celebrate and support diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

• A strong commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for all students and building a successful, highly effective organization aligned with this mission.

• Understanding and ability to manage confidential information effectively.

• Knowledge of/experience with innovative school designs and instructional models, including those that utilize 21st Century learning strategies such as blended, inquiry, problem/project-based, and personalized learning.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
