This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Create engaging visual narratives that convey the impact of the American Alpine Club and align with organizational goals.
• Conceptualize, film, edit, and deliver video content in various formats, including short-form, long-form, educational, documentary, and social media.
• Develop documentary-style narratives showcasing AAC programs.
• Conduct and produce long-form interviews and oral histories with prominent AAC members, leaders, and contributors.
• Capture live events and transform them into ongoing storytelling opportunities.
• Create promotional videos that bolster AAC marketing and communication strategies.
• Ensure all video content adheres to AAC standards for storytelling, technical excellence, accessibility, and brand consistency.
• Contribute to the expansion of AAC multimedia programming through high-quality audio and video production.
• Produce the Cutting Edge podcast along with other audio programming.
• Record, edit, and publish podcast episodes along with accompanying video content for social media and digital platforms.
• Develop multimedia assets to enhance the reach of AAC stories across digital channels.
• Manage production schedules, recording logistics, and post-production processes for multimedia projects.
• Create story-driven multimedia content that furthers the mission of the American Alpine Club by supporting organizational objectives.
• Generate multimedia stories that illustrate the impact of AAC programs, initiatives, and member experiences.
• Produce content for fundraising and donor engagement that highlights the effects of philanthropic contributions, including annual and planned giving initiatives.
• Create membership and marketing materials that express the benefits of joining, participating in, and supporting the AAC.
• Develop multimedia content that supports events, educational programs, lodging, and other initiatives of the organization.
• Prepare and optimize multimedia content for dissemination across AAC's digital platforms.
• Adapt video and multimedia content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, email marketing, the AAC website, and other platforms as required.
• Optimize content length, format, captions, and technical specifications for each platform.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to support campaigns, website content, and digital communication efforts.
• Repurpose existing content across platforms to maximize reach, engagement, and organizational value.
• Coordinate multimedia production throughout the organization while ensuring efficient workflows and production standards.
• Proven portfolio of video and multimedia content showcasing excellent cinematography and editing skills (with a strong eye for framing, pacing, and audio composition).
• Over 3 years of experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration, capable of managing a complex, multi-stakeholder production calendar and handling multiple projects within deadlines and budgets.
• Proficiency in industry-standard editing and post-production software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred), After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
• Comfortable working as a solo producer — able to operate independently in the field, troubleshoot production challenges, and oversee the entire production cycle from concept to delivery.
• A genuine passion for the outdoors and climbing — able to differentiate between sport and alpine climbing, and engage in meaningful conversations with both seasoned mountaineers and novice climbers.
• Dedicated to the AAC mission and embodying our core values.
• Preferred degree in film, video production, or visual communications.
• Photography skills that complement primary video work.
• Ability to elicit compelling stories from individuals who may not be media-trained — including members, grantees, donors, and program participants.
• Experience working with a nonprofit organization, especially in storytelling for membership or donor engagement.
• Familiarity with motion graphics, animation, or various multimedia storytelling formats.
