This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Edit and create high-quality, social-first short-form video content, optimized for platform performance at every phase.
• Design and animate clear, engaging motion graphic sequences that effectively convey complex scientific ideas.
• Edit branded short-form video content, collaborating closely with the sponsorship sales team and pitching ideas in response to brand briefs when necessary.
• Oversee the post-production process for videos from start to finish, encompassing editing, sound design, graphics, animation, and versioning.
• Adapt content for various platforms, including YouTube Shorts, Patreon, and Facebook.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing speed, quality, and budget while maintaining high creative standards.
• Ensure all outputs align with Veritasium’s editorial, brand, and client expectations.
• Actively develop and refine new short-form formats and creative strategies in partnership with editorial and commercial teams.
• Provide strong creative guidance across both editorial and branded content projects.
• Generate, test, and pilot new ideas with a solid understanding of social-first audience behavior and performance metrics.
• Proven experience in delivering high-performing social-first videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Strong technical proficiency in editing and post-production workflows, with advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Proficient in motion graphics, keyframe animation, and basic visual effects.
• Solid understanding of platform algorithms, best practices, and factors that drive audience engagement.
• Data-driven mindset, capable of analyzing competitors and iterating on successful strategies.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to balance creative aspirations with brand and business goals.
• Excellent stakeholder management abilities, facilitating effective collaboration across editorial and commercial teams.
• Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Clear and confident communicator.
• Familiarity with emerging AI tools for video production, with practical experience in applying them in real-world workflows.
• Proactive, collaborative, and innovative, with a passion for social-first storytelling.
• Good understanding of the STEM short-form video competitive landscape.
• Interest in science.
• Proficiency in 3D animation software, such as Blender, is a plus.
