This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage the compliance program in line with the guidelines set forth by the Department of Justice and the HHS Office of the Inspector General, as well as the outcomes of the annual compliance risk assessment.

• Recruit, lead, and supervise staff within the Compliance and Privacy teams.

• Oversee the company's suite of policies and procedures, including drafting, revising, deploying, and providing training in collaboration with relevant business units.

• Develop, implement, and drive the annual internal compliance risk assessment, work plan, and audit and monitoring strategy.

• Collaborate directly with MRO’s health system clients to convey elements of the MRO compliance program and assist in comprehending federal and state privacy legislation and forthcoming regulatory and legislative updates.

• Monitor and track mandatory compliance training sessions.

• Create and report on key compliance metrics across all business sectors.

• Establish and manage suitable governance structures for compliance, including conducting regular meetings of the management compliance committee and presenting reports to the board of directors’ Compliance, Information Security, and Public Policy Committee.

• Work closely with the Legal team to ensure a shared understanding of applicable laws, and with the Government Affairs team to foresee changes in legislation impacting the company’s operations and compliance program.

• Present topics on compliance and health information management to industry groups and at MRO client summits.

• Innovatively utilize the company’s technological resources to achieve the aforementioned objectives.

• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the CEO, CLO, or Board of Directors as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years of progressively complex experience in a healthcare environment, ideally serving as a VP of Compliance or Chief Compliance Officer.

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a J.D. or a Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.

• Relevant certifications such as Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent are preferred.

• Proven ability to incorporate knowledge of a company’s business, strategy, and key initiatives into assessments of compliance risk and program elements.

• Experience in evaluating compliance risk based on relevant data and delivering practical solutions on material issues affecting the company.

• In-depth knowledge of federal and state healthcare privacy and data protection laws and regulations, with experience managing operational privacy challenges beyond HIPAA breach risk assessments and related auditing and monitoring.

• Familiarity with regulations governing Medicare and Medicaid program participation, qualified clinical data registries, and third-party intermediaries.

• Demonstrated capacity to build and lead a cohesive team, fostering morale while driving the team towards its objectives.

• Experience collaborating directly with senior leadership and presenting compliance matters to senior executives and boards of directors.

• Demonstrated interest in or experience with the evaluation and implementation of automation and AI-driven tools to enhance compliance auditing, monitoring, and program management capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and adeptly lead others through complex challenges.

• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• High degree of integrity, executive maturity, humility, and self-awareness.

• Strong work ethic and initiative, capable of operating with minimal day-to-day oversight.

• Experience in sponsor-backed (PE, VC) or other high-growth environments is preferred.
