This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Vehicle Maintenance Manager is tasked with overseeing vehicle maintenance and repair operations for a substantial fleet of military and civilian assets, which includes, but is not limited to, line haul vehicles, vertical handling equipment, material handling tools, light and heavy vehicles, and construction machinery.
• Carry out vehicle maintenance and recovery operations in compliance with relevant contract stipulations, company policies, government regulations, and military standards.
• Administer, maintain, and distribute approved publications, warranties, and government-mandated documentation such as Lost, Theft, Damaged, and Destroyed (LTDD) reports and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) reports.
• Ensure that assets are utilized effectively and that all odometer readings are current and recorded in the computerized maintenance management system.
• Collaborate with managers, directors, military personnel, suppliers, and vendors regarding warranty matters and asset cross-leveling to ensure timely completion of scheduled maintenance, reporting, and tracking of all assets.
• Supervise and confirm that all repairs are accurately recorded and documented, ensuring that reports are completed punctually and correctly.
• Implement budgeting, analysis, and reporting for the maintenance operation; monitor burn rates and equipment usage, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and optimize cost avoidance strategies.
• Assess and facilitate team development while enforcing guidelines to uphold the health, safety, and well-being of assigned employees.
• Execute any additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in logistics support for equipment maintenance, with at least three (3) years in a maintenance management position utilizing GCSS-Army Maintenance Business Area.
• A Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field; or may substitute two (2) years of experience in the relevant field for each year of academic study.
• Extensive knowledge of maintenance and supply principles, production, and US military maintenance support systems for material handling, heavy trucks, and/or heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with GCSS-Army maintenance production, production control, and maintenance support systems and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, equipment parts acquisition, and submission processes for warranties, LTDD, and ECOD.
• Skilled in the GCSS-Army Maintenance Management Business Area Module.
• Awareness of relevant standards and regulations, including those set by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and military standards.
