VDC, BIM Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with engineers and managers to create LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems.

• Partner with the General Contractor and other subcontractors to ensure spatial coordination among all trades.

• Participate in weekly coordination meetings, either onsite or virtually, to facilitate spatial alignment of all trades.

• Generate RFIs to be sent to the design team when necessary.

• Develop detailed shop drawings for the fabrication and installation of related trades.

• Create and annotate shop drawings, hanger drawings, and sleeve drawings.

• Produce and export hanger and sleeve coordinates for field layout.

• Communicate with field personnel to ensure that the intent for fabrication and installation is clearly represented in the drawings.

• Mentor and train Junior VDC Specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the installation or 3D modeling of mechanical or plumbing systems.

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk Navisworks.

• Familiarity with additional BIM-related software is an advantage.

• A working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Must be skilled in the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to learn and apply new information quickly and efficiently.
