VAS Engineer – Signature

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Conduct daily monitoring and assessment of essential applications, system performance, logs, and alerts with a keen sense of urgency when issues arise.

• Analyze critical application traffic to identify issues using tools such as traffic sniffers, simulators, MRTG, PRTG, SNMP polling, and log analysis.

• Collaborate on deployed solutions to pinpoint grey critical applications/protocol traffic and develop new monitoring and detection strategies.

• Facilitate discussions and analysis with cross-functional teams to address and prevent issues before they affect customers.

• Provide knowledge transfer and technical advice to customers, enabling them to better comprehend and utilize AppLogic Networks solutions.

• Act as the main point of contact between customer operations and AppLogic Networks' Customer Support, Account Management, and engineering teams — overseeing escalations, status reports, and resolution timelines.

• Engage directly with equipment and tools as necessary, assisting team members across a cross-functional setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical position.

• Strong proficiency in Unix-based operating systems (Linux, FreeBSD, etc.).

• Expertise in programming or scripting languages (Java, C/C++, Python, Perl, etc.).

• Hands-on experience with packet-level debugging tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, tcpreplay, or similar).

• Comprehensive understanding of web application concepts including P2P, VoIP, WAP, MMS, and RTSP.

• Extensive knowledge of networking and IP-related technologies.

• Background in Quality Assurance testing.

• Strong foundation in VoIP, IPTV, and video streaming protocols and architecture.

• In-depth understanding of end-to-end network call flows and associated protocols (DHCP, RADIUS, DIAMETER, GRE, SIP, RTP, MGCP, H.323, RTCP).
