This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provides oversight for projects and mentorship to colleagues, as well as technical support for all aspects of project scope and determinations during daily operations.

• Evaluates electric service applications for the installation of both temporary and permanent overhead and underground utility and service facilities.

• Reviews and offers feedback on project submittals throughout the entire project life cycle.

• Addresses Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly and accurately.

• Prepares preliminary bills of materials and cost estimates for utility service applications.

• Conducts field inspections and compiles field reports in accordance with client and city standards.

• Assembles complete job packages containing all final information necessary for the construction of each project.

• Verifies design information, including structure type, conductor specifications, material standards, and constructability against utility standards.

• Participates in scheduling, coordination, and progress meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, including utility clients, contractors, developers, and other agencies.

• Collaborates effectively within a team environment to achieve project scope, schedule, and budget.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma.

• Over 7 years of experience in utility distribution planning or electric utility project review.

• Familiarity with utility infrastructure planning workflows, which includes application review, RFI response, cost estimating, and job package preparation.

• Working knowledge of NESC, GO 95 & 128 (California), or equivalent standards.

• Capability to conduct field inspections and document findings in accordance with client or agency standards.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to review submittals and meticulously check work.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with contractors, developers, and public agency stakeholders.

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in engineering, drafting/design, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in utility infrastructure planning or electric utility project coordination.

• Experience in supporting public utility clients, such as municipal utilities or public utility commissions.

• Advanced knowledge of NESC, GO 95 (California), or similar standards.

• Background in preparing bills of materials, cost estimates, and construction-ready job packages.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar tools for reviewing design submittals.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
