This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as a member of the Regional Service Team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients across the USA and Canada.
• Oversee all resources and logistics necessary for executing services and maintenance activities at customer sites and properties.
• Assist in the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of sold or existing products.
• Manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering operations.
• Aid in the implementation of retrofit projects, including the installation, powering up, and commissioning of turbine control solutions (MkVI, MkVIe), as well as TIL implementation.
• Support warranty administration and troubleshoot any arising issues.
• Address customer service requests and lead the resolution of customer problems during warranty and post-warranty phases.
• Responsible for pre-planning, site scheduling, field engineering, commissioning, control system startup, and project handover to customers.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, customers, and supplier representatives to ensure financial performance, quality project installation, timeliness, and overall customer satisfaction.
• Respond to customer call-out service requests.
• Ensure timely completion of service time sheets, trip reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative tasks.
• Work in conjunction with other functions to identify and document change order opportunities, as well as review proposals for new opportunities.
• Interface with GE Power Services, GE Industrial, and other GE businesses.
• Expect significant travel and overtime, potentially up to 50% of your time.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Automation, Electronic Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with one or more of the following: turbine control solutions (MkV, MkVI, MKVIe), HMI upgrades, and TIL implementation.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial plant automation, DCS (distributed control system), PLC (programmable logic controller), or similar industry sectors.
• Previous experience in industrial field service.
• Controls experience with equipment that serves as a prime mover.
• Proficiency in electronics and/or mechanical troubleshooting.
• Computer literacy, including familiarity with MS Office and TCP/IP configuration.
• Ability to learn additional software tool applications to support HMI and application changes (Cimplicity, Intellution, Toolbox, GAP, etc.).
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% domestically, which may include international plant sites.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb 10 flights of stairs twice each day.
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and physical examination.
• Capable of meeting Fitness for Duty requirements and site security protocols for unescorted access.
• Ability to perform effectively under high-stress conditions.
• Willingness to work in radiation-controlled and radioactively contaminated areas.
• Availability to work 12-hour days and 7 days a week when necessary for project completion.
• Ability to adapt to various physically demanding environments, including extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and circumstances requiring climbing stairs or working at heights.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and passport.
