Traveling Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Receive and log samples of concrete and soil, along with conducting additional tests as necessary

• Execute and comprehend a variety of laboratory testing procedures

• Oversee the Braun Quality system within the laboratory

• Enter and manage laboratory test data using the LIMS lab management software

• Ensure that laboratory equipment remains in optimal working condition

• Carry out other assorted laboratory assignments as directed

• Engage in work at data centers, commercial warehouses, and various remote project locations

• Conduct routine laboratory tests and data entry to confirm compliance with construction plans, contract documents, and project specifications

⛳️ Requirements

• Experienced Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

• Capability to work independently

• Willingness to travel extensively and work at remote project sites across the US

• Readiness to work long hours, including overtime and weekends as necessary

• Openness to outdoor work in diverse weather conditions

• Ability to interpret safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, as well as procedural manuals

• Competence in following written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Capability to learn and adapt to laboratory management systems

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

• Ability to lift weights ranging from 50 to 75+ pounds

• Proficient in conducting proctor tests, Atterberg Limits, #200 Wash, and breaking concrete cylinders

• ACI Strength Testing Technician certification is preferred

• Certifications in MoDOT or KDOT HMA, MoDOT, TxDOT, or KDOT Soils are preferred

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report
