Transportation Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Strategize, optimize, and manage PPG freight using Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).

• Conduct transportation planning tasks for various USCA departments, covering standard freight, returns, emergency/rescue shipments, and expedited freight.

• Coordinate and oversee ground transportation shipments.

• Foster relationships with carriers, 3PLs, and OTR transportation partners.

• Handle transportation events arising from order modifications, production schedule changes, and operational disruptions.

• Ensure compliance with routing guides by utilizing preferred and cost-effective carriers while upholding service standards and timely deliveries.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to freight ratings and billing in collaboration with carriers and the PPG Freight Payment Audit team.

• Track and maintain transportation performance metrics, reporting, incident management, and operational analysis.

• Offer strategic and economic insights for transportation sourcing, carrier negotiations, and network design decisions.

• Report directly to the Transportation Planning Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in outbound logistics operations, transportation, shipping, or warehousing.

• Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS).

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational setting.

• Experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) is preferred.

• Availability from Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EDT.

• On-call duties approximately one weekend every one to two months.
