This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete transport process of IT hardware, including rack systems, servers, and various data center equipment, across all transport lanes: domestic moves within Europe, inbound international shipments (primarily from suppliers based in Taiwan), outbound shipments from Europe as necessary, and shipments to and from Israel.

• Organize inbound freight scheduling for both domestic and international shipments, covering ocean and air freight from Taiwan and other origins, while managing the selection of carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and damage-free delivery to European locations.

• Manage all RMA and RMS shipments by coordinating with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to guarantee accurate and timely processing.

• Supervise equipment transfers between company warehouses and data center facilities throughout Europe, optimizing routes and minimizing handling risks.

• Ensure complete visibility over active shipments across all lanes and proactively address transit issues, delays, or exceptions.

• Create contingency plans and alternative routing strategies to maintain business continuity.

• Oversee time-sensitive air freight shipments as needed, including carrier selection, booking, and end-to-end tracking to guarantee expedited delivery of hardware.

• Collaborate closely with data center operations teams to facilitate staging, buffering, and just-in-time hardware deployment.

• Keep precise in-transit inventory records and ensure proper chain-of-custody documentation for all shipments.

• Administer all shipment-related documentation in relevant systems (Jira, TMS, or equivalent), ensuring that records are thorough, accurate, and prepared for audits.

• Handle customs documentation and clearance processes for all cross-border shipments, including inbound shipments from Taiwan, transfers within Europe, and shipments to and from Israel.

• Process and reconcile logistics invoices; manage payments for transportation operations, including ZIP payments to the appropriate vendors and partners.

• Collaborate with the security team to establish and maintain secure shipment protocols, ensuring compliance with physical security requirements.

• Ensure that all shipments comply with applicable regulations, including EU transport and customs regulations for domestic European moves, EU import/export regulations for international freight, and relevant cross-border trade compliance for shipments involving Israel.

• Manage VAT, duties, and customs declarations for inbound and outbound international shipments in accordance with EU regulations.

• Maintain audit-ready documentation for all logistics activities to support internal (SOX) and external compliance requirements.

• Establish and enforce SLAs and KPIs with freight carriers, forwarders, and 3PL partners; promote accountability through regular performance reviews.

• Identify and escalate compliance gaps or deviations from processes, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

• Collaborate with hardware engineering, procurement, finance, and data center operations to align logistics execution with deployment timelines and business priorities.

• Work with OEM suppliers (e.g., Giga, ASUS), primarily based in Taiwan, to coordinate international shipping windows, batch tracking, customs documentation, and inbound scheduling into European facilities.

• Coordinate with teams and partners in Israel to manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with relevant import/export requirements.

• Serve as the primary escalation contact for European transport-related issues among internal teams and external partners.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through KPI tracking, root cause analysis, and process standardization.

• Anticipate transportation demand based on data center expansion plans, hardware deployment schedules, and capacity needs across both European and international lanes.

• Identify cost optimization opportunities through carrier consolidation, routing enhancements, and more effective scheduling.

• Monitor and report on logistics costs across all lanes, flagging variances and recommending corrective measures.

• Support data-driven decision-making by providing regular reports, dashboards, and operational analytics.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, freight, or logistics management, preferably within technology, data center, or hardware supply chain sectors.

• Demonstrated experience in managing both domestic European and international freight operations, including LTL/FTL, ocean freight, and air freight shipments, alongside carrier and forwarder relationships, as well as 3PL coordination.

• Comprehensive understanding of EU customs regulations, import/export processes, and cross-border trade compliance within Europe and with non-EU nations.

• Experience with shipments to or from Israel is advantageous; familiarity with relevant customs and trade compliance requirements is a plus.

• Practical experience with RMA/RMS shipment processes and reverse logistics flows.

• Knowledge of TMS platforms, Jira, or similar systems used for tracking shipments and managing documentation.

• Experience handling large, heavy, or high-value freight (server racks, IT infrastructure equipment) is strongly preferred.

• Exceptional organizational and documentation skills with a strong emphasis on accuracy and completeness.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities; capacity to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams in an international environment.

• A self-starter mindset with the capability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Located in Europe; Amsterdam is preferred, but other EU locations will be considered. Must be eligible to work in the EU.

• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional European languages is a bonus.
