This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Facilitate the growth and development of Student Service Advisors (SSAs).
• Support the Office of Student Success staff in the consistent application of advising resources and systems.
• Organize both online and in-person training sessions, offer individualized coaching, and create professional development opportunities.
• Assist leadership with technological enhancements, process efficiency improvements, and troubleshooting complex challenges impacting student retention and persistence.
• Train newly hired SSAs and current staff on advising strategies, customer service, student communication, degree planning, technology resources, at-risk student support, as well as university policies and procedures.
• Spearhead the Advising with Purpose performance quality initiative and develop evaluation rubrics for advisor/student interactions.
• Aid in training on Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and advising-related data.
• Offer guidance and support for SSAs managing complex, time-sensitive advising tasks.
• Create and maintain training manuals, student scenarios, multimedia trainings, and other resources within the departmental LMS.
• Deliver virtual training via scheduled webinars.
• Establish a process for assessing training methodology and effectiveness.
• Review new Standard Operating Procedures and provide training to staff in procedural execution.
• Work in collaboration with Office of Student Success leadership on various departmental projects.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Candidates with education and/or experience relevant to the described duties will also be considered.
• A minimum of two years of experience as an academic advisor is strongly preferred.
• Strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Proficient in customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, and creative thinking.
• Ability to establish rapport with constituents through self-confidence, patience, and empathy.
• Capacity to adapt to the needs and characteristics of a multigenerational audience.
• Initiative and skill in developing solutions while clarifying and enforcing policies.
• Flexibility, adaptability to change, and a willingness to learn.
• Competence in locating resources and learning from mistakes.
• Ability to foster cohesive working relationships and communicate with honesty and respect.
• Familiarity with adult education and the academic environment.
• High proficiency in technology, including Microsoft products.
• Preferred bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
• A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a personal relationship with Him.
• Ability to communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles in the workplace.
• A strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
• Regular, meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.
• Knowledge of the Word of God and a passion for Christian education.
• A traditional evangelical Christian lifestyle that aligns with CCU’s Statement of Faith and Strategic Priorities.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, reach, balance, stoop, speak clearly, and possess appropriate vision and hearing capabilities.
• Capacity to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
