This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• You will ensure that import and export activities comply with applicable customs regulations, export controls, sanctions, and trade legislation.
• You will research local laws, regulations, procedures, and trade advantages, summarizing key changes for internal stakeholders.
• You will monitor import and export activities within assigned business units and regions to detect risks, limits, restrictions, or compliance issues.
• You will collect, manage, and analyze trade data, including classification data, to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
• You will prepare, draft, and submit documentation for import/export permits, tracking approvals through the appropriate government channels.
• You will collaborate with brokers, suppliers, government contacts, and internal teams to ensure that documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.
• You will support export control processes, including restricted party screening, secure server requirements, licensing, classification, and assessment reviews.
• You will contribute to process improvements, statistics, audits, and training that enhance compliance with trade regulations and reduce business risks.
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to accurately process complex, extensive information.
• A collaborative work style, with the ability to build trusting relationships with teams, business units, brokers, suppliers, and government contacts.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain trade requirements, process changes, and compliance expectations to various audiences.
• A proactive mindset, with the ability to take action, solve problems, improve processes, and achieve results in a regulated environment.
• A diploma from a college, university, or equivalent education, or equivalent professional experience is required.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
• A license may be required to comply with export control or sanction regulations.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English is required, and strong Excel skills are preferred.
