Senior Global Trade Compliance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manages the daily operations of trade compliance.

• Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) and conducts internal audits.

• Owns the global tariff classification framework, including complex classifications and binding ruling requests.

• Serves as the technical authority for HTS/HS decisions across the brand portfolio.

• Maintains the global compliance manual, SOPs, and decision logs.

• Determines and sustains HTS classifications for all SKUs across the US, UK, CA, EU, and CN.

• Provides support for classification inquiries related to customs holds and customs brokers.

• Oversees the master classification database and SKU intake workflow.

• Identifies and implements tariff-engineering opportunities (legitimate reclassification, set/component splits, value-added reclassification).

• Trains teams on classification principles.

• Conducts weekly entry reviews, monthly KPI reporting, and internal compliance audits.

• Manages the team's project portfolio (FTA qualification campaigns, classification cleanups, drawback filings).

• Oversees broker SLAs and broker communications; addresses escalations regarding entry exceptions.

• Leads onboarding and training for new compliance hires and SKU/sourcing partners across brand teams.

• Supports the Director in regulatory submissions and correspondence with customs authorities.

• Manages the recordkeeping system (5-year retention) and prepares for any external audits.

• Reviews 7501s and entry summaries before liquidation; identifies and resolves discrepancies with brokers.

• Collaborates with Procurement on supplier changes that impact origin qualification.

• Coordinates with Customs brokers, forwarders, and internal stakeholders to address compliance issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in global trade compliance and HTS classification at an importer or licensed broker is required.

• At least 2 years of experience leading a small team is preferred.

• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and/or CCS certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of European trade compliance regulations is advantageous.

• Hands-on experience with ACE, broker portals, and at least one ERP (NetSuite is preferred for Unybrands).

• Strong analytical and reconciliation abilities are essential.

• Excellent project management skills; adept at leading cross-functional working groups.

• Experience in the e-commerce or retail sector is a plus.
