This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.
• Analyze and review documents obtained from public records and deliver title opinions based on the documented facts.
• Review previous title chains and associated documents for inaccuracies and title complications.
• Evaluate title conditions and insurability by reviewing deeds, deeds of trust, mortgages, mechanics liens, tax liens, judgments, assessments, probates, and other recorded matters.
• Create precise and thorough title commitments in accordance with the company's examination and policy protocols.
• Utilize title plant software to research and analyze record documents for ownership, legal descriptions, and title connections.
• Clarify chains of title, exceptions, and requirements to clients and management.
• Identify title defects and devise curative solutions.
• Evaluate risks and liabilities, escalating issues to local or state title managers or underwriters as necessary.
• Uphold daily production targets and delivery standards.
• Collaborate with clients and management to meet deadlines and address inquiries.
• Engage in special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
• Experience in preparing title commitments is required.
• Previous examination experience in PA, MA, RI, CT, NH, NJ, and VT is essential.
• A minimum of four years of experience in the industry is necessary.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Familiarity with underwriting policies and guidelines relevant to specified states is needed.
• Understanding of real estate law and title and escrow curative processes is essential.
• Experience with title searching software preferred, including DataTree, DATA Trace, FASTSearch, and county websites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
• Good organizational abilities and capacity to work within set timelines are essential.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure is necessary.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are required.
• Specialized training in word processing, database, or spreadsheet software is desirable.
• Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and reach valid conclusions is necessary.
• Skill in resolving practical problems with limited standardization is required.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions is essential.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
