Title Examiner II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Title Examiners are tasked with abstracting and reviewing documents from public records, providing title opinions based on the facts and documentation.

• Conduct searches of public records and assess titles to ascertain the legal condition of primarily residential subdivisions, and potentially some metes and bounds properties.

• Perform title examinations of moderate complexity.

• Analyze documents such as deeds, mortgages, judgments, liens, probates, guardianships, bankruptcies, and foreclosure documents, and formulate appropriate title requirements to resolve title issues.

• Must possess the ability to draft basic metes and bounds legal descriptions.

• Ability to articulate the chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to managers and underwriters is essential.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred familiarity with title searching software, including DataTrace, TitlePoint, X1, etc.

• Understanding of underwriting policies and guidelines is necessary.

• Knowledge of real estate law and title and escrow curative processes is required.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to operate within established timelines.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.

• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

• A minimum of five years of experience in the industry is required.

• Experience in title examination within Florida is essential.

• A High School diploma (or equivalent) is required. Specialized training in word processing software, database, or spreadsheet software (obtained through schooling or up to six months of training) is preferred.
