Title Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and analysis of land records to create comprehensive title examinations.

• Assess title examinations for precision and adherence to Illinois title standards.

• Detect title complications and defects in real estate transactions.

• Exhibit the capability to investigate and gather information on a particular property (e.g., tax bill, paid assessment letter, lien payoff) and evaluate each document to ascertain: Is this a legitimate claim? Should this information be highlighted on the preliminary title and/or updated title?

• Review previous starter files to ascertain if the property was previously insured and whether any issues should be addressed on title or insured over.

• Formulate and implement strategies to address title challenges.

• Ensure organized documentation and communication throughout the examination and resolution process.

• Adhere to deadlines and produce high-quality work in a remote setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Established expertise in Illinois title standards and title examination practices.

• Proven experience in preparing title examinations and identifying title challenges.

• Successful history of resolving title defects and addressing title issues.

• Strong capability to work independently and efficiently in a remote environment.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Proficiency in land record databases and title examination tools.

• Experience with title examination processes in additional states (Preferred).

• Knowledge of title insurance underwriting guidelines (Preferred).

• Background in real property law and transaction closing procedures (Preferred).

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 2 years of experience in the real estate sector, specifically related to real estate title.

• Solid understanding of residential transaction processes.

• Preferred experience with a title company and/or law firm.

• A minimum of 2 years in the real estate industry.

• Strong grasp of title commitments, county/municipal requirements, and general title clearance.

• Advanced knowledge of title issues and their resolution.
