This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +11 more states.
• Continuously oversee online environments pertinent to targeted violence to detect threats aimed at public officials, vulnerable communities, and critical infrastructure.
• Compile weekly intelligence reports and flash bulletins featuring evidence-based sections and analytical evaluations.
• Identify, gather, and assess information from social media, violent extremist materials, and other sources utilized by in-house tools.
• Manage databases and consistently review social media and messaging platforms for project inclusion.
• Conduct research and draft in-depth analyses of trends and themes within online extremist ecosystems.
• Operate under demanding, fast-paced reporting schedules for clients.
• Cultivate and disseminate subject matter expertise related to violent extremism and online harms throughout the organization.
• Engage in client briefings and modify delivery and framing according to the audience.
• Identify inefficiencies in monitoring or reporting workflows and suggest process enhancements to team leadership.
• Foster client relationships and assist in business development by spotting opportunities for new projects.
• Professional, academic, or independent research experience in monitoring extremist or violent online ecosystems.
• Comfort with content that depicts violence and harassment.
• Professional experience employing OSINT methods for analysis and investigation, particularly across mainstream and fringe social media platforms.
• Strong analytical writing skills with the ability to separate evidence from assessment.
• Capability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and devise innovative solutions for complex research challenges.
• Proficiency in scanning large volumes of data to identify significant information.
• Experience utilizing AI tools for research or writing workflows, or a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to work within strict timelines and manage workload both independently and collaboratively.
• Proven capability to manage ongoing work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent teamwork skills and adaptability in addressing challenges.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Must be eligible to work in the US and successfully pass relevant security clearance procedures as mandated by clients.
• Familiarity with threat assessment frameworks.
• Background in political violence, security studies, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of various ideological threat landscapes.
• Experience with social listening tools.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, Tableau, or Kibana.
• Interest in enhancing subject matter expertise and taking greater ownership of reporting streams.
• Fluency in languages other than English, especially Arabic, is preferred.
