This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Evaluate new versions of Revenues & Benefits software utilized by public services and local authorities.
• Collaborate closely with development and product teams to enhance software and boost customer satisfaction.
• Acquire knowledge of Revenues and Benefits legislation as well as the NEC Revenues and Benefits application.
• Assess functional requirement specifications for legislative updates, enhancements, and new features.
• Create precise and comprehensive test scripts based on specifications and established outcomes.
• Test new technologies that are introduced to the customer base or included in NEC releases.
• Partner with the Lead Test Analyst and Test Manager to finalize testing in accordance with project timelines and deadlines.
• Identify testing components that are at risk of not being completed on schedule.
• Clearly communicate test results to the Lead Test Analyst, Test Manager, and other team members.
• Timely and accurately update necessary documentation.
• Adhere to NEC’s quality management system.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes for testing quality.
• Support testing of other NEC applications, including those used by Central Government Departments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex requirements.
• Knowledge and understanding of Council Tax or Non-Domestic rates collection and management.
• Familiarity with Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction payment and calculation.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proven history of meeting tight deadlines.
• An investigative mindset to explore test failures and identify software defect causes.
• Understanding of impact/risk analysis and the capability to align testing activities accordingly.
• Experience in writing test scripts for complex applications.
• Experience in executing test scripts.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies between actual and anticipated results.
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Understanding of how different browser and operating system versions may impact applications.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Experience collaborating with offshore teams.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Capability to work remotely as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Initiative in addressing functionality-testing challenges.
• Willingness to seek information and gather details to enhance knowledge.
• Openness to testing unfamiliar areas.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; documentary evidence required.
• Successful completion of vetting and reference checks; DBS check may be necessary depending on the role.
