This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Evaluate intake assessments, which encompass medical history, dietary practices, laboratory results, and additional relevant information.
• Facilitate diet and lifestyle counseling and education sessions through video conferencing.
• Provide general advice on movement, sleep, or stress management as it relates to nutritional care when necessary.
• Utilize Allara’s nutrition training and educational resources while tailoring care to meet patient needs.
• Apply motivational interviewing and behavior-change strategies throughout the continuity of care.
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Medical Doctors (MDs) participating in patients’ medical management.
• Ensure accurate and current patient records are maintained.
• Commit to at least 10 patient-facing hours weekly, in addition to administrative responsibilities.
• Complete documentation, address patient inquiries, and respond efficiently to administrative tasks and messages.
• Valid Registered Dietitian certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• A minimum of one year of experience in treating patients with complex women’s health issues is highly preferred.
• An active, unrestricted, and unencumbered state license to practice as a Registered Dietitian in at least one U.S. state.
• Capability to operate as an independent provider with strong diagnostic judgment and critical thinking abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating compassion and clarity.
• Ability to establish trust and rapport with patients in a virtual environment.
• Dedication to evidence-based care grounded in current clinical research.
• Proficient in using EMR systems, text expanders, Gmail, Google Calendar, Zoom, and scheduling applications.
• Previous telehealth experience is advantageous.
• Capacity to schedule at least 80% of contracted weekly hours during designated evenings, Fridays, and/or weekends.
• Two professional references: a former or current supervisor and a coworker from the last five years.
• Authorization considerations include whether visa sponsorship is necessary to continue working in the United States.
• The flexibility and independence of an independent contractor model.
• Compensation per visit, along with additional payment for charting, administrative duties, and other patient-related activities.
