Telehealth Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Eating Disorders

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and manage medication for patients with complex psychiatric profiles, including those with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.

• Offer psychiatric evaluations and consultations to external psychiatric practitioners for continued treatment.

• Execute medication management plans in a virtual telehealth environment.

• Assess the medical risks associated with eating disorders within the psychiatric care framework, considering their impact on psychiatric symptoms, medication choices, safety, and care level requirements.

• Collaborate with medical professionals, dietitians, therapists, patient mentors, family mentors, and external providers.

• Utilize messaging between sessions to support patients and liaise with the treatment team via Equip’s electronic medical records system.

• Engage in treatment team meetings, supervision, educational opportunities, and departmental gatherings.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

• Hold an active license to practice in the state(s) where patients are located, or be willing to obtain licensure in additional states.

• Dedication to delivering excellent evidence-based care, enhancing clinical competencies, and pursuing professional growth.

• Strong communication skills with patients and their caregivers, ensuring prompt responses to messages.

• A sense of curiosity, a desire to learn, and enthusiastic engagement in a multidisciplinary team setting.

• Experience and comfort in treating eating disorders, emotional dysregulation, suicidal thoughts, substance use, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

• Capability to provide direct patient care, including both new patient consultations and follow-up appointments.

• Availability to work until 6 PM two evenings per week.

• Willingness to attend required meetings.

• Ability to work during Eastern Time Zone hours.
