
Telehealth Physician – Weight Management, MD/DO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Conduct synchronous telehealth evaluations for new GLP-1 patients, determining eligibility, comorbidities, contraindications, and treatment objectives in accordance with Berry Street’s clinical protocols.
• Prescribe and adjust doses of FDA-approved GLP-1 medications (Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc.).
• Oversee and manage follow-up appointments, dose adjustments, side effect counseling, and laboratory reviews through a combination of synchronous visits and asynchronous chart assessments, following applicable state regulations.
• Review Berry Street RD care summaries prior to prescribing interactions and reference documented lifestyle modification history in your clinical records.
• Sign Letters of Medical Necessity for prior authorization requests; PA Coordinators will manage all electronic prior authorization logistics and submissions.
• Address PA appeals that require clinical input within 48 hours and assist with renewal PA documentation every 6 to 12 months.
• Engage in Medical Director-led clinical evaluations, protocol revisions, and quality enhancement initiatives to continually improve the prescribing process.
• Operate within Berry Street’s Professional Corporation (PC) in full compliance with CPOM—ensuring that all clinical decisions are solely your responsibility.
• Maintain active licensure, malpractice insurance, and payer credentialing across the states in which you are contracted.
• Partake in periodic chart audits and quality assessments led by the Medical Director.
• MD or DO from a recognized U.S. medical school; board-certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty (ABMS or AOA).
• Active, unrestricted medical licenses in at least 30 U.S. states; strong preference for candidates willing to acquire additional licenses to support patient reach; IMLC enrollment or eligibility is a considerable advantage.
• At least 3 years of post-residency clinical experience in managing patients with obesity, metabolic syndrome, or type 2 diabetes.
• Comfort in practicing within a fully remote clinical setting with expertise in EHR platforms.
• Active NPI and professional liability/malpractice insurance that covers telehealth interactions.
• Board certification or training in Obesity Medicine (ABOM) is advantageous.
• Previous telehealth prescribing experience in weight management or metabolic health is beneficial.
• Licenses in high-volume states (CA, TX, FL, NY, PA, IL, OH, GA, NC, AZ) are a significant advantage.
• Total schedule flexibility - set your own hours with a minimum of 10 hours of recurring patient-facing availability per week.
