Telehealth Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Treatment Plans: develop personalized treatment plans for patients; adjust treatment plans as necessary when patients are not showing expected progress, either independently or in consultation with a more experienced provider.

• Behavioral Interventions: employ motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and other behavioral strategies as needed to encourage patients to stay engaged in care and adhere to their treatment plans. Conduct behavioral health and psychological evaluations for the range of psychological services provided (depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.).

• Monitor/Medication Management: systematically assess treatment responses and monitor patients for shifts in clinical symptoms and side effects, treatment compliance, effectiveness of interventions, or complications, and prescribe or prepare the necessary medications.

• Education: offer patient education on Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD).

• Charting: record all patient interactions in Ophelia’s EHR in a prompt and high-quality manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).

• Active DEA license (schedule 3N, 4, 5) or willingness to obtain a DEA upon receiving a job offer with Ophelia.

• Fully licensed to practice in New Jersey (additional licenses in Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, or Maryland are a plus!).

• Capability to provide patient-centered, non-judgmental, and compassionate care without stigma.

• Enthusiastic about serving vulnerable or marginalized populations.

• Comfortable working with a diverse array of individuals.

• Proficient and at ease in a remote telehealth environment, with the technical skills to navigate various technology platforms.

• Eager to contribute to an early-stage healthcare startup that is fast-paced and constantly evolving processes and technology to meet the needs of patients and clinicians.

• Willingness to engage in a team-based approach to patient care.

• Familiarity with the differential diagnosis of common substance use disorders.

• Basic understanding of psychopharmacology related to opioid use disorder.

• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team setting.

• Capacity to maintain professional and effective relationships with patients and other members of the care team.

• Working knowledge of evidence-based psychosocial treatments, counseling techniques, or brief behavioral interventions.
