Technology Lead – Low-Code, Data & Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Leverage technology throughout the organization by examining our delivery, operations, and client engagements. Identify areas where technology (AI, automation, integrations, internal tools) can alleviate challenges, conserve time, and enhance the quality of our outputs. Develop prototypes, refine the most effective ones for production, and empower our team with these tools.

• Foster genuine adoption. A prototype that remains unused signifies a missed opportunity. Collaborate with Henry and team leaders to implement new tools, provide training to the team, gather feedback for improvements, and ensure that technology becomes an integral part of everyone's workflow. This aspect is crucial for the role's success.

• Establish robust controls and governance. We manage a substantial amount of client financial data, yet currently lack formal security measures or protocols. You will take charge of this by defining procedures, executing controls, and creating a secure and well-regulated foundation for our growth.

• Design and develop internal tools that transform how our finance team operates (including AI-driven reporting, automated reconciliations, client-facing dashboards, and operational workflows).

• Rapidly prototype using contemporary AI and low-code tools (such as Claude, Lovable, Gemini Workspace AI, Cursor, Airtable, Zapier, n8n), and transition the best prototypes into production.

• Establish a centralized data foundation by integrating information from Xero, Shopify, Stripe, and other platforms utilized by our clients.

• Develop security protocols and access controls concerning client financial data, addressing access management, data handling, and incident response.

• Implement data governance measures: classification, retention, segmentation, and audit trails.

• Collaborate with Henry and team leads to analyze processes, identify high-impact opportunities for technology integration, and ensure lasting change.

• Provide training for the team, create playbooks, and elevate the standard of technology usage in daily operations.

• Take ownership of the technology roadmap, including decisions regarding build versus buy and managing vendor relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in delivering actual software with AI tools as a fundamental part of your workflow (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable, and similar), beyond mere chat applications.

• Proficient in utilizing modern low-code and no-code platforms (like Airtable, Zapier, n8n, Make) and knowing when it's appropriate to transition to traditional coding.

• Extensive hands-on experience with APIs and integrations, preferably including Xero, Shopify, or payment processors.

• Strong foundation in data engineering: you've constructed or maintained a data warehouse, written SQL queries against real business data, and can effectively model financial data.

• Experience in establishing security measures, access controls, and data governance in environments that handle sensitive information.

• Ability to convert complex business and financial requirements into technical solutions and articulate those solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

• Excellent change management and stakeholder engagement skills: you excel at ensuring tools are adopted, not merely delivered.

• A proactive builder's mindset: you ship, iterate, and avoid prolonged planning phases.

• Proven experience with Xero API integration.

• Prior experience in developing tools for accounting, finance, or e-commerce operations.

• Hands-on experience with Claude or Anthropic APIs, agentic workflows, or AI orchestration frameworks.

• Experience leading comprehensive tech stack audits or change initiatives (which may be required in the future).

• Experience in designing internal tools that are genuinely used and appreciated by non-technical colleagues.

• A portfolio showcasing projects you've rapidly delivered: side projects, prototypes, micro-SaaS.
