Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Simplify intricate cybersecurity concepts, processes, and technical results into accessible written content for various audiences, including those without a technical background.

• Create and sustain technical documentation such as policies, procedures, user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and program reports.

• Utilize knowledge of NIST, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and CIS Controls to guide and format documentation outputs.

• Work collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and program managers to collect technical data and ensure accuracy.

• Assist in the communication of cybersecurity programs, including creating presentations, briefings, and executive summaries.

• Review and enhance existing documentation for clarity, consistency, precision, and adherence to agency style guidelines.

• Help document AI tools and their suitable applications within the context of the program.

• Maintain version control and documentation repositories in line with program standards.

• Engage in team meetings and participate in sprint planning or project milestone evaluations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in technical writing within a cybersecurity or IT setting.

• Proven capability to transform complex technical ideas into clear, easily understandable content for a variety of audiences.

• Knowledge of NIST, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and/or CIS Controls.

• General cybersecurity background sufficient to grasp the subject matter and collaborate effectively with technical personnel.

• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) is required.

• Must be able to successfully pass a federal background check and obtain public trust clearance.

• All work must be conducted within the continental United States.

• Experience in supporting federal agencies or government contracting environments is preferred but not mandatory.
