This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Continuously enhances knowledge and skills essential for being an effective automotive/truck instructor through studying available resources, participating in train-the-trainer sessions, engaging in hands-on work, enrolling in relevant online or live courses, and being involved in automotive, truck, and/or training-related groups.

• Thoroughly prepares for classes, delivering exceptional presentations, fostering professional interactions with students, and utilizing adult learning principles.

• Collaborates with management and the NAPA Training Service Center to develop training schedules. Engages with division and national departments to assess needs, designs schedules to address those needs, and makes adjustments as required.

• Works alongside division management to execute, pilot, and facilitate NAPA Autotech training programs.

• Engages in initial course and curriculum development, presenting to a test group, gathering feedback for necessary changes, and modifying content and delivery accordingly.

• Maintains the integrity of course content while allowing flexibility to enhance the learning experience based on the instructor's style.

• Collaborates closely with both internal and external customers to assess training needs and organize training events to fulfill those requirements.

• Provides feedback regarding training events, processes, and materials to Training management, course designers, and customers as needed.

• Involved in planning processes such as needs assessment, course development, and delivery.

• Aids in marketing training events to optimize participation, including building relationships with DC/store personnel in assigned markets.

• Supports the marketing of training offerings and services, initiating engagement and follow-up with the targeted audience, while relaying any feedback collected to NAPA Autotech management.

• Delivers training presentations at marketing and owners' conferences, Team NAPA meetings, DC sales meetings, and other NAPA events as necessary.

• Communicates with management about training activities, test results, and evaluations.

• Identifies areas for improvement, recommends training courses to address issues, and follows up with customer evaluations to assess program success.

• Ensures course integrity as designed while having the flexibility to enhance the learner's experience based on individual needs and instructor style.

• Advocates for the proper selection and qualification of participants by confirming appropriateness for the audience, ensuring that any required prerequisites and/or pre-seminar material are communicated and provided to participants.

• Guarantees an effective learning environment for participants, including proper meeting room setup, automotive equipment, and ordering necessary materials.

• Promotes NAPA, the NAPA organization, programs, parts, tools, and equipment.

• Prepares and ensures that all administrative aspects of training are completed promptly, including participant rosters, evaluations, tests, class booklets, handouts, forms, expense reports, A/V equipment, and more.

• Responsible for performing any additional duties assigned by management.


⛳️ Requirements

• ASE Master Technician Certification is mandatory. *No exceptions on this requirement, it is essential.

• At least 5 years of experience as a working automotive technician, preferably in an independent repair shop or an OEM dealership.

• Previous experience in automotive, truck, or related training, facilitation, and meeting direction.

• A minimum of 2 years' experience successfully conducting adult learning programs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Demonstrates high character, a team-oriented approach, fairness, exceptional organizational skills, and timely reporting.

• Minimum of 70% travel is required.

• Ability to stand and speak for over 4 hours at a time, with occasional breaks.

• Heavy physical activities may be necessary (e.g., lifting training props weighing up to 70 lbs., including cases with parts or tools, and using lifting/moving tools for assistance on a daily basis).

• Maintains and protects assigned equipment, vehicle, computers, credit cards, and other assets.

• Knowledge of NAPA product lines is a plus, but not a deal-breaker if absent.
