This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Provide Autotech training to AutoCare and Major Account shop personnel to enhance automotive diagnostic capabilities while reducing comebacks and parts returns.
• Continuously expand automotive/truck instructor expertise through study, train-the-trainer sessions, practical work, courses, and industry participation.
• Thoroughly prepare for classes and deliver subject-matter presentations utilizing adult learning methodologies.
• Create training schedules in collaboration with management and the NAPA Training Service Center.
• Collaborate with division management to deploy, pilot, and facilitate NAPA Autotech training initiatives.
• Contribute to course and curriculum development, facilitate test-group sessions, gather feedback, and adjust content and delivery methods accordingly.
• Engage with both internal and external clients to assess training requirements and organize training events.
• Relay feedback regarding training sessions, processes, and materials to training management, course designers, and clients.
• Assist in promoting training events and services, engaging the audience, and conducting follow-up activities.
• Deliver presentations at marketing and owners' conferences, Team NAPA meetings, DC sales meetings, and other NAPA-related events.
• Communicate with management regarding training activities, test outcomes, and evaluations.
• Identify areas for improvement, recommend corrective training programs, and follow up with customer feedback.
• Ensure that participant prerequisites and pre-seminar materials are effectively communicated.
• Create conducive learning environments, including arranging meeting rooms, automotive equipment, and materials.
• Manage training administration tasks such as rosters, evaluations, tests, booklets, handouts, forms, expense reports, and A/V equipment.
• Safeguard and maintain assigned equipment, vehicles, computers, credit cards, and other assets.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
• ASE Master Technician Certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience as an active automotive technician is essential.
• Previous experience in automotive, truck, or related training, facilitation, and meeting direction is required.
• At least 2 years of successful experience in conducting adult learning programs is essential.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• High character, teamwork orientation, fairness, excellent organizational abilities, and accurate, timely reporting are expected.
• A minimum of 70% travel is required.
• Capability to stand and speak for over 4 hours at a time with intermittent breaks.
• Ability to engage in physically demanding activities, including lifting training materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Competence in maintaining and safeguarding assigned equipment, vehicles, computers, credit cards, and other assets is required.
• Familiarity with NAPA product lines is advantageous.
