This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take ownership of the complete recruiting process for software engineering positions at all levels, which includes sourcing, screening, coordinating, and finalizing candidates.
• Collaborate closely with engineering managers and founders to gain a thorough understanding of technical requirements, team culture, and the standards for each role's hiring process.
• Develop and sustain a strong pipeline of qualified engineering candidates through proactive outreach, referrals, and engagement with the community.
• Create engaging and personalized outreach messages that resonate with technical talent while effectively conveying our mission and engineering culture.
• Implement a structured and consistent interview process — establish evaluation criteria, train interviewers, and ensure a high-quality candidate experience from the first interaction to the job offer.
• Oversee and negotiate competitive offers, possessing a solid understanding of current compensation benchmarks in the market.
• Monitor recruiting metrics — including pipeline health, time-to-fill, and source effectiveness — and leverage data to continuously enhance funnel performance.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of recruiting processes, tools, and employer branding as the company expands.
• A minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience, with at least 5 years in-house at a technology company; agency experience is beneficial, but significant in-house experience is essential.
• Proven experience recruiting software engineers across various disciplines, including backend, frontend, fullstack, infrastructure, and ML/AI.
• Previous experience in early-stage startups (Seed through Series B); adept at navigating ambiguity, changing priorities, and fast-paced environments.
• Strong technical knowledge — capable of understanding engineering job requirements, engaging credibly with candidates regarding the tech stack and roles, and accurately assessing technical backgrounds.
• A demonstrated history of successfully filling challenging senior engineering roles through innovative and proactive sourcing methods, rather than relying solely on inbound applications.
• Experience working independently without a large talent acquisition team or extensive recruiting infrastructure; a resourceful and self-sufficient methodology toward tools and processes.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities, engaging effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and cross-functional partners.
• Familiarity with contemporary ATS platforms and sourcing tools such as Greenhouse, Lever, and LinkedIn Recruiter.
