This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Data Science teams to define and implement the payments and billing strategy.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and spearhead initiatives to enhance bank account connectivity.
• Formulate the strategy for Acorns' utilization of technologies such as Recurly, Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit card services, and ACH.
• Broaden the Acorns ecosystem beyond Apple Pay and Google Pay to incorporate future integrations like Venmo, Zelle, and other emerging platforms.
• Approach operations with a customer-centric mindset by driving workflow strategies and tools.
• Manage critical relationships and technical integrations with processors, bank SaaS providers, payment vendors, and merchants.
• A minimum of 5 years of Technical Program Management experience in the Fintech sector, showcasing a successful history of managing complex projects that balance technical limitations with customer requirements.
• Strong foundational understanding of the mechanics behind Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit/debit cards, prepaid cards, and the intricacies of working with payment processors, point of sale systems, and banking institutions.
• Proficiency in APIs, SQL, and an understanding of the mechanics involved in payment processing and account linking (e.g., Plaid).
• In-depth knowledge of account connectivity methods (e.g., Plaid, manual linking, and automated verification) and strategies to optimize these processes for both conversion and security.
• A mindset that prioritizes both the needs of Acorns customers and the efficiency of our internal operations team, with the ability to create a seamless payment platform that aligns with our brand values.
• Expertise in data analysis and the capability to communicate the trade-offs between enhancing security measures and minimizing friction in the customer experience.
