Technical Manager – AI and Data, SAS Viya

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Serve as the technical authority for the architecture, design, configuration, and standards of SAS Viya across various environments.

• Direct the administration and lifecycle management of the platform, which includes upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, and ensuring the stability of the environment.

• Manage and enhance CAS performance, workload execution, scalability, and resource utilization specifically for analytics and AI workloads.

• Ensure the implementation of robust security measures, identity management, access control, and adherence to regulatory compliance as per enterprise policies.

• Supervise monitoring, logging, observability, and incident management processes to guarantee platform reliability.

• Diagnose and rectify data issues and performance bottlenecks in both real-time and batch analytics pipelines.

• Govern SAS Viya content, data access, environment promotions, and the management of releases.

• Lead and mentor SAS Viya administrators and platform engineers, establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.

• Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, conduct code/configuration reviews, and promote continuous improvements of the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in analytics platforms, data engineering, or enterprise Data & AI environments.

• In-depth technical knowledge of SAS Viya architecture, administration, and optimization of CAS performance.

• Proven experience in managing enterprise-scale analytics platforms within complex, multi-environment setups.

• Strong comprehension of data platforms, analytics pipelines (both batch and real-time), and performance tuning techniques.

• Practical experience in platform operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management.

• Solid understanding of security, identity, access management, and governance within regulated environments.

• Capability to convert business and analytics requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Experience in leading and mentoring technical platform teams, establishing standards, and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• SAS certifications in SAS Viya Administration or Architecture are highly preferred; cloud certifications are an added advantage.
