Technical Lead, Spark, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Create innovative features for Cloudera’s data engineering platform.

• Transition features from prototypes to managing a team for large-scale production delivery.

• Contribute to projects involving Apache Spark and Livy.

• Implement new functionalities using Scala, Java, or Python on contemporary platforms.

• Develop expertise in distributed data processing and the components of the Cloudera Data Engineering Experience stack.

• Work with large-scale distributed systems within production clusters.

• Troubleshoot system-level deployment challenges and rectify failures.

• Enhance internal infrastructure.

• Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience in professional software development.

• Proven experience in leading and implementing complex product improvements.

• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Scala, Python.

• Familiarity with systems design and development.

• A passion for programming, maintaining clean coding practices, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.

• Excellent independent research and problem-solving skills.

• Open-mindedness, eagerness to learn, and a drive to create outstanding products.

• Experience in working with distributed systems.

• Knowledge of SQL planners.

• Familiarity with using or developing Apache Spark, Livy, or related technologies.

• Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems, with a solid understanding of scaling, performance, and scheduling.

• Strong experience with at least one cloud platform.

• Contributions to open-source projects.
