This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of projects from their initial concept to final production, ensuring accountability for results beyond just the process.
• Comprehend the technical scope, architecture, and dependencies sufficiently to foresee potential issues before they arise.
• Guarantee that infrastructure, testing, performance, and operational readiness are incorporated from the beginning.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of your projects at all times.
• Communicate proactively and frequently — early notification of bad news is manageable; late disclosure leads to crises.
• Provide truthful and precise status updates — no spinning, no hiding, and no assuming someone else will address it.
• Adapt communication to suit the audience — offer technical details for engineers, business impacts for leadership, and actionable clarity for all stakeholders.
• Engage meaningfully in technical discussions — while you may not write code, you grasp the construction and purpose of what is being developed.
• Collaborate with engineers on architecture, dependencies, and integration points to accurately evaluate delivery risks.
• Serve as a bridge between engineering and business by translating technical limitations into actionable language for stakeholders.
• Identify risks at an early stage through a genuine understanding of the work, rather than solely by reviewing ticket statuses.
• Escalate issues with context — clarify the risk, its impact, and the available options.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews with a focus on delivery — considering impact, learnings, and prevention strategies.
• Seek out friction in workflow processes and suggest practical enhancements.
• Experiment with AI tools to enhance delivery efficiency in reporting, analysis, coordination, and communication.
• Manage delivery tools as a means to achieve goals, rather than viewing them as ends in themselves.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical delivery, project management, or software engineering.
• Previous experience as a software developer, or substantial hands-on technical expertise with software systems.
• Comfortable reading code, reviewing pull requests for context, and understanding technical trade-offs without oversimplification.
• Recognizes what constitutes "done" in production — including testing, deployment, monitoring, and documentation.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence) — prioritizing principles over formalities.
• Experience in financial services or trading technology is a significant advantage.
• Up to 30 days of leave plus bank holidays.
• Private health insurance.
• Pension scheme.
• Life insurance coverage.
• Dental and optical cashback.
• Cycle to work scheme.
• Opportunities for social events and offsite gatherings.
