This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Conduct FISH analysis, which includes the analysis and imaging of digitized images.
• Evaluate metaphase spreads through computerized imaging.
• Examine cytogenetic cases using computerized images and relevant documents.
• Review test requisitions and collect essential details for analysis.
• Summarize test outcomes utilizing ISCN nomenclature.
• Differentiate between normal and abnormal test results.
• Monitor, operate, and resolve issues with equipment, software, and applications.
• Make informed technical decisions related to testing and troubleshooting.
• Report precise and timely test results to promote quality patient care.
• Notify the general supervisor of issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the general supervisor in the development and review of protocols and policies.
• Offer technical insights to senior technologists.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct onscreen FISH analysis with occasional chromosome work using Metasystems (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) digital platforms.
• Operate remotely in a dynamic, multi-site environment while handling competing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG).
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics.
• Non-traditional degrees with relevant science credits that comply with CLIA standards may fulfill education requirements in place of the specified education.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to successfully pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Willingness to work overtime or adapt to different shifts based on business needs.
• A dedicated home office space that is not shared and meets HIPAA compliance standards.
• Consent to have the home address included in reports of analyzed or reported cases, as mandated by CMS.
• Wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mb/sec.
• Ability to work effectively from home in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and manage multiple priorities.
• No wet lab or bench work; this position is entirely focused on analysis.
