Technical Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main HashiCorp technical consultant for client engineering teams.

• Create and implement Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Develop reusable Terraform modules and standardized infrastructure patterns.

• Create automation tools and enhance platform capabilities using Golang.

• Facilitate enterprise adoption of Terraform Enterprise / Terraform Cloud, Vault, and Consul.

• Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to automate provisioning on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Integrate Terraform into CI/CD pipelines including GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

• Set up infrastructure governance, policy as code, and best practices.

• Conduct code reviews and guide engineers on Terraform development standards.

• Diagnose infrastructure deployment issues and enhance cloud environments.

• Create technical documentation, architecture guidance, and operational runbooks.

• Engage in architecture discussions and offer recommendations for cloud platform enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.

• More than 3 years of practical Terraform development experience.

• Strong programming background in Golang.

• Proven experience in building reusable Infrastructure as Code frameworks.

• Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Proficient in Git source control and CI/CD automation.

• Solid understanding of infrastructure automation, networking, IAM, cloud security best practices, and Linux administration.

• Experience in Agile development environments.

• Exceptional communication and consulting abilities with a knack for working directly with client stakeholders.

• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (or higher) is preferred.

• Experience with HashiCorp Vault is preferred.

• Familiarity with Consul is preferred.

• Kubernetes experience is preferred.

• Docker/container platform experience is preferred.

• Experience with Sentinel Policy as Code is preferred.

• Proficient in Terratest or automated IaC testing is preferred.

• Experience in building internal developer platforms is preferred.

• Background in supporting large enterprise cloud transformations is preferred.
