Technical Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the Art Director and the Programming team to bridge the operational gap between the art and programming teams.

• Lead the development of technical solutions and optimizations to achieve an ideal balance between quality and efficiency.

• Partner with artists, designers, and programmers to integrate assets into the engine.

• Enhance and maintain the efficiency of workflows, content pipelines, and develop tools for artists.

• Write and uphold efficient shaders that align with the game's artistic direction.

• Evaluate and optimize art asset inefficiencies and enhance game performance in collaboration with artists and programmers.

• Work alongside design teams to create mock-ups and prototype assets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in game development.

• At least one shipped title.

• In-depth knowledge of building and creating tools for Unreal Engine.

• Comprehensive understanding of modeling, texture, and material creation pipelines.

• Advanced expertise in writing shaders for Unreal Engine.

• Familiarity with the technical limitations associated with art creation pipelines.

• Capability to assess the art team's needs and assist in developing tools to boost efficiency.

• Proven track record of collaborating with art teams to fulfill the artistic vision of games.

• Exceptional skills in organization, communication, and teamwork.

• Proficiency in content creation software such as 3ds Max, Maya, Substance, or Photoshop.

• Strong understanding of procedural content generation and machine learning.
