Motion Design Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work closely with designers, engineers, producers, and stakeholders to discover opportunities where motion can enhance usability, communication, and the overall product experience.

• Develop high-quality animations, interaction flows, transition concepts, and motion studies that enrich the overall product experience.

• Collaborate with engineers to effectively communicate motion intent and ensure thoughtful, high-quality implementation during production.

• Convert business objectives and product strategies into motion concepts and interaction systems that enhance clarity, usability, and flow.

• Articulate nuanced motion decisions clearly across various disciplines, advocating for intentional interaction design throughout the product development process.

• Bring client brands to life within digital products while enhancing and extending existing visual systems through motion.

• Contribute to the improvement of internal motion workflows, tools, and processes that foster quality and collaboration.

• Foster an inspiring, collaborative, and inclusive environment for the team.

• Mentor and guide other Motion Designers through feedback, collaboration, and craft leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of motion design experience at a studio, product company, digital agency, or as a freelancer.

• A strong portfolio showcasing motion craft, interaction thinking, and product sensibility.

• Solid understanding of UX, interaction design, and user-centered thinking.

• Ability to transform complex concepts into intuitive, polished motion experiences.

• Experience in clearly communicating motion intent and interaction behavior to engineering teams.

• Strong visual design instincts with a keen sensitivity to timing, pacing, composition, and movement.

• Capacity to provide and receive constructive feedback in collaborative settings.

• Proficient in Figma, Lottie/Bodymovin, and motion design workflows.

• Familiarity with tools such as Rive, Spline, After Effects, or Cinema 4D is advantageous.

• Knowledge of front-end implementation or creative development is a significant plus.
