This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Act as a bridge between visualization and engineering by providing technical art expertise and solutions.
• Assist artists, animators, and riggers in their projects.
• Collaborate across various functions to create comprehensive solutions that enhance quality and streamline the iteration process.
• Develop best practices, workflows, pipelines, and tools for technical art.
• Convert creative briefs into actionable requirements.
• Establish performance and memory targets and define testing methodologies.
• Optimize solutions to achieve a balance between quality and performance.
• Oversee tasks throughout the development-to-delivery lifecycle.
• Conduct reviews of code and content performance.
• Verify work within builds prior to submission to source control.
• Identify potential risks before committing changes to source control.
• Define the scope of technical art tasks within a scrum framework and provide time estimates.
• Participate in daily standups and sprint planning sessions.
• Anticipate project risks and propose practical solutions.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Strong background and knowledge in visualization for feature films.
• Proficiency in industry-standard DCC tools such as Maya, Unreal Engine, and After Effects.
• Experience in creating both 2D and 3D postvis assets.
• Expertise in Unreal Engine, including Blueprinting, lighting, rendering, and content integration for postvis pipelines.
• Solid understanding of real-time performance constraints and the ability to resolve Unreal bottlenecks.
• Capability to anticipate and address performance limitations on target devices.
• Skill in communicating technical issues to non-technical team members.
• Proficiency in using performance tools for engines and devices.
• Experience in writing and editing clear technical documentation.
• Familiarity with production tracking tools.
• Proficient in version control using Perforce, including managing works in progress.
• Ability to plan, design, and implement solutions to technical art challenges.
• Must reside in the United Kingdom.
