This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Serve as a liaison between Art, Engineering, and the game engine, facilitating effective communication and resolving cross-disciplinary challenges.
• Assist artists with the integration of art into the engine, including the setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of assets and systems, as well as maintaining housekeeping and naming standards.
• Design, develop, and sustain tools, scripts, and workflows that enhance artist productivity and elevate content quality.
• Collaborate with artists across various disciplines such as animation, modeling, texturing, shaders, FX, destruction, and other real-time content areas.
• Aid in identifying visual or performance challenges and create high-quality solutions within technical limitations.
• Contribute to the establishment and upkeep of art pipelines and production processes.
• Produce clear and concise documentation for tools, workflows, and pipelines.
• Take initiative on technical challenges, work with minimal oversight, and proactively suggest enhancements.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Unreal Engine in a Technical Artist role.
• Strong comprehension of real-time content development and game art pipelines.
• Technical expertise in one or more art disciplines (e.g., animation, modeling, texturing, FX) with a solid understanding of their interactions within the engine.
• Experience in supporting or creating production tools and workflows.
• Some programming or scripting knowledge (e.g., C++, C#, Python, or similar).
• Familiarity with asset management and version control practices.
• Knowledge of animation rigs and game animation systems.
• Experience with DCC tools such as Maya.
• Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and a collaborative approach.
