Tech Lead – DataOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Oversee the cross-functional platform and reliability initiatives, spearheading industrialization, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and the overall stability of the platform in a fully remote, diverse environment.

• Establish and refine technical standards to guarantee the reliability, scalability, and performance of data workflows.

• Drive industrialization and automation projects throughout the development and deployment processes, assisting multiple squads in adopting DataOps best practices.

• Participate in defining the technical roadmap, making architectural decisions, and continuously enhancing the ecosystem.

• Design, maintain, and advance internal development and deployment tools related to dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake.

• Create and optimize internal CLI tools for automated dbt model generation, YAML testing, DAG creation, and deployment automation.

• Aid in the integration of AI/LLM capabilities into development and DataOps workflows to minimize manual operations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain secure and automated multi-environment Data CI/CD pipelines.

• Ensure deployment quality during release cycles, collaborating with project squads and facilitating release governance.

• Oversee, enhance, and design Apache Airflow orchestration workflows and execution DAGs.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability features to maximize platform stability and operational efficiency.

• Assist in incident resolution and root cause analysis.


⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Data Vault 2.0 methodology applied to enterprise data platforms.

• Advanced skills in Python (focused on data platforms/automation) and SQL query optimization.

• Solid hands-on experience with dbt and Apache Airflow (including DAG design and workflow optimization).

• Good understanding of DevOps practices utilizing Git/GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Snowflake (or equivalent MPP platforms).

• Strong cross-functional technical leadership, an autonomous/proactive attitude, and exceptional communication skills for collaboration with multicultural, distributed teams.

• Professional proficiency in both English and French is necessary.

• Preferred skills: Experience with specific data modeling and automation tools such as AutomateDV and DBSchema. Practical exposure to modern observability and data platform reliability practices. Experience or keen interest in integrating AI/LLM tools (like GitHub Copilot) into DataOps development and deployment workflows.
