Tech Lead, Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical direction of the team focusing on performance, resilience, and platform advancement initiatives.

• Establish and evaluate the architecture of low-latency, high-scale services.

• Work collaboratively with other teams on routing strategies, caching, CDNs, and security measures.

• Promote best practices for code quality, testing, observability, and operational excellence in production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend application development.

• Proven track record in designing and architecting distributed, scalable systems.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles (SOLID principles, best practices, design patterns).

• Comprehensive knowledge of computer networks and high-scale systems (latency, throughput, contention, network congestion, etc.).

• Familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).

• Experience utilizing observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, Datadog, etc.).

• Proficient in databases (SQL and NoSQL).

• Background with agile methodologies.

• The following skills are advantageous:

• Experience with Go programming language.

• Knowledge of web servers and reverse proxies (e.g., Nginx, Apache).

• Familiarity with operating or utilizing CDNs, including understanding their benefits, limitations, and security aspects (WAF, authentication tokens, etc.).

• Knowledge of Lua or other embedded scripting languages.

• Experience with debugging and optimization tools for embedded systems.

• Understanding of Unix and operating systems (terminal, sysctl, perf, top/htop, user space vs. kernel space concepts, interrupts, etc.).

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).

• Experience in mentoring and developing technical team members.
