Team Lead, Java Engineer, Retail

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, solution design, development, deployment, monitoring, and upkeep of a collection of over 300 RESTful microservices.

• Lead a team of approximately 5 developers, which includes conducting 1:1 meetings, performance evaluations, monitoring progress, and fostering improvement.

• Personally engage in coding and task completion, rather than solely delegating responsibilities.

• Perform code reviews, uphold coding and architectural best practices, and offer constructive feedback.

• Guide team members, assist in their professional growth, participate in developer interviews, and exemplify the use of AI coding assistants to enhance quality and efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in leading and taking ownership of developer teams and software projects.

• Over 5 years of experience in modern Java programming, with a strong emphasis on clean coding and best practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of microservice architectures and AWS services (such as ECS, SQS/SNS, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch).

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Spring technologies, including Spring Boot (preferably with Spring Cloud).

• Exceptional ability to clarify business requirements, collaborate across teams, and balance ideal API design with practical business needs; experience with AI coding tools is a plus.
