Team Lead, Backend Engineer – Node.js

📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of backend services utilizing Node.js.

• Define and direct the backend architecture, API strategy, and integration methodologies.

• Build, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing backend engineering team.

• Provide analysis of requirements, technical design, effort estimation, and sprint planning.

• Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, scalability, and security.

• Collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders.

• Support decisions regarding cloud architecture and ensure successful cloud deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in Node.js backend development, including REST APIs, asynchronous programming patterns, and streaming.

• Demonstrated experience as a Team Lead with accountability for technical decisions, team delivery, and engineering processes.

• Strong familiarity with AWS cloud services, particularly EKS, RDS, MSK, Cognito, and ElastiCache.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is highly valued.

• Proficient in designing and building event-driven systems using Apache Kafka or similar streaming technologies.

• Experience in creating scalable integrations with third-party APIs, encompassing retries, circuit breakers, timeout handling, rate limiting, and resilient communication patterns.

• Proficient with SQL Server or PostgreSQL databases.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Temporal.io, AWS Step Functions) is an advantage.

• Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and experience in Agile delivery.
