This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Takes overall responsibility for the planning, development, and implementation of programs for a designated team of professionals delivering direct services to individuals served by the Agency.
• Directly supervises assigned Agency staff, including recommendations for hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, training, and compensation.
• Conducts comprehensive performance evaluations for assigned staff in a timely manner.
• Ensures accurate assessment of individual service needs, planning, implementation, and documentation.
• Monitors and guarantees that Person Centered Plans of Service accurately reflect necessary services and are completed with quality and timely adherence to standards established by Wayne Center and its governing bodies.
• Collaborates with team members to establish and maintain service linkages, cross-system integration, and operational efficiencies.
• Ensures the acquisition or provision of supportive services for individuals served.
• Promotes the utilization of natural supports and generic community resources where appropriate, acknowledging that Medicaid is the payer of last resort.
• Oversees the monitoring, documentation, evaluation, and reporting of progress for each individual served within the unit.
• Sets and reinforces expectations regarding the timeliness and quality of reports and other job responsibilities of unit staff.
• Develops and upholds a monitoring/tracking/quality review system to ensure services are completed in a manner that meets requirements and expectations.
• Holds periodic meetings with staff, both individually and as a group/unit, to discuss work/agency matters, monitor performance and progress, provide information/training, and identify gaps in service delivery.
• Monitors adherence to departmental and agency policies and procedures, ancillary contracts, Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) guidelines, and other applicable standards, regulations, and laws.
• Engages in inter-unit/team coordination of the Agency's comprehensive program.
• Represents the Agency on internal and external committees at the request of supervisor/management.
• Involved in the preliminary planning and ongoing management of Agency contractual homes, placement decisions for individuals served, record maintenance, and ensuring recipient rights functions are appropriately followed.
• Acts as a member of the Agency Placement Review Committee.
• Contributes to the Agency's training programs.
• Assesses and monitors staff training requirements, ensuring compliance with the annual 24-hour training mandate.
• Prepares necessary information and statistical reports as required.
• Provides guidance and assistance with level of care authorizations for individuals served.
• Functions as a liaison between unit staff and DWIHN staff.
• Participates in providing administrative coverage during non-business hours.
• Holds indirect responsibility for the financial planning and development of the team in collaboration with other management personnel.
• Fosters the growth, safety, well-being, and autonomy of consumers while promoting the philosophy of person-centered planning and self-determination as it relates to consumers.
• Ensures that each person’s services, as detailed in the PCPOS, are entered into the MH-WIN system, LEXICON, or other electronic record-keeping systems as required, and maintains service authorizations in line with DWIHN guidelines throughout the duration of each PCPOS.
• A Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Counseling.
• A minimum of five years of experience in one of the aforementioned fields, including at least three years as a human service professional.
• Current certification and/or licensure as a LLMSW/LMSW, LLBSW/LBSW, LLPC/LPC, or an LLP/LP to practice in the State of Michigan.
• Preferred: At least three years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of mental health, social services, and public health service systems.
• Preferred: Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) with specialized training and experience in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Required: Evidence of completing five hours of QIDP training and five hours of Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) training at the time of licensing and/or credential renewal each year.
