This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +19 more states.
• Prepares and submits tax returns and reports while adhering to set deadlines.
• Responsible for assessing the tax implications of corporate actions and devising strategies to reduce liability.
• Stays updated on revisions in federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Leverages relevant internal and external resources to track changes in applicable foreign tax regulations.
• Manages the tax reporting, planning, and compliance functions.
• Oversees the accurate completion of tax returns to minimize the organization's tax obligations.
• Directs international resources to ensure compliance of subsidiaries across all relevant jurisdictions.
• Provides innovative tax planning and reviews complex income tax returns.
• Identifies and addresses potential tax risks.
• Manages the tax provision and compliance processes.
• Owns the sales/value-added tax compliance and process.
• Coordinates and manages tax audits.
• Maintains tax balances in the general ledger.
• Regularly prepares all tax documentation and manages information data requests.
• Coordinates and oversees the compliance process for transfer pricing policies.
• Leads cross-functional projects.
• Aids in the development and implementation of new projects, policies, and procedures to align with key corporate initiatives.
• Builds strong relationships with internal and external consultants and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business is mandatory.
• An advanced degree in tax and/or CPA designation is advantageous.
• Over 5 years of experience in the corporate tax sector.
• Demonstrated experience as a tax manager.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tax accounting, compliance, value-added (sales) tax, and transfer pricing principles.
• Strong background in accounting ERP systems and Avalara software.
• Proficient in the MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
• Capable of meeting deadlines and resolving issues effectively.
• Strong leadership and personnel management abilities.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
