This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Accountable for the examination of high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, estate and gift returns, trust preparations, joint ventures, noncorporate entity tax returns, combined state tax returns, and overall tax compliance.
• Evaluate highly complex individual tax returns.
• Oversee and cultivate income tax and financial planning clientele.
• Collaborate closely with tax partners and other tax personnel on client management, practice enhancement, and business development initiatives.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to manage their expectations, ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, and effectively lead change efforts.
• Consult and collaborate with clients, making recommendations on business and process improvements, while serving as a business adviser.
• Supervise and facilitate the success of multiple engagements in both partnership and individual taxation.
• Prepare year-end projections.
• Conduct research on various tax-related issues.
• Mentor Associates and provide guidance on tax matters.
• Uphold strong presentation skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience.
• 2-4 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of Tax Law with specialized expertise in areas such as partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, corporations, taxation of pass-through entities, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and/or financial planning.
• Capability to prepare working trial balances and year-end adjusting entries.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related disciplines.
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• Strong technical proficiency in tax preparation, review, compliance, and research.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to utilize Excel, Word, and CCH Axcess.
